Purple and Green Art Deco on my Fingernails

I go back and forth about whether or not I’m tired of winter.  It doesn’t take very many dark, foggy days to make me really ready for spring.  But then the fog lifts and the sun comes out, and it’s a bright, cold, crisp, beautiful day, and I love winter and I’m not in a hurry for spring at all.  This mani tries to capture the feeling of those cold but sunny winter days.  I made some  decals by painting OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest and OPI Don’t Talk Bach To Me on a plastic sandwich bag, and when it was dry, I gently peeled the polish off, and cut it into triangles.  I  painted my thumb and pinky with OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest, my pointer nail with Orly Shine, and my accent nails with OPI Don’t Talk Bach To Me.  Then I gently placed the purple triangle decals on the green nails, and the green decals on the purple nails.  I added some dots with my dotting tool and Orly Shine, and some silver gleequins from the Born Pretty Store.  I really liked how this turned out, and thought it perfectly captured the cold, bright winter days.

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.
