My Redbud Tree is Blooming

My uncle gave me this tree about 25 years ago, he grew it from a seed that he got from a redbud tree that was in my mother’s pasture in Oklahoma.  When he gave it to me it was just a tiny 12 inch tall stick growing in an old coffee can.  I planted it, and watered it, and made sure that no one weed wacked it, and now it is this beautiful tree.  My uncle loved to grow trees from seeds, his back yard had hundreds of different trees growing in old cans.  He would pick up tree seeds everywhere he went, and plant them.  Most of his seeds actually grew, he really had a talent for growing trees from seeds.  When they were big enough, he gave them all away, and planted more seeds.

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.
