So after having bright shiny Red on my nails, I was in the mood for a more subdued manicure this time. I thought that I would make some flower decals in grey tones, it’s my most ambitious decal project yet! First, I drew the outlines of the flowers on a piece of paper, and taped a piece of plastic sandwich bag over the drawing. Then with clear nail polish, I painted four areas just a little larger than the flowers on the plastic, letting the polish dry for 10 or 15 minutes between each step. I used It’s So Easy Stripe Rite in Black to made the outlines and OPI You Only Live Twice to carefully dot the center of the flower, I had to get just a little bit of bright color in there – lol! Then I used OPI Skull & Glossbones and a very fine brush to make a small line up the center of each petal, and OPI Number One Nemesis to fill in the rest of the outline. Then I let it dry overnight, and when I was ready to use them, I used my tweezers to carefully tease them off of the plastic.
I painted my thumb and pinky with OPI Haven’t The Foggiest, a beautiful shiny greyish silver. I painted my pointer nail with Nicole by OPI Totally In The Dark and topped it with Revlon Sparkle Aplenty, one of my favorite combinations. And I painted my accent nails with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. When it was almost dry, but still slightly tacky, I carefully placed the flower decals on, making sure that they were the correct side up, and gently made sure that they were completely flat and securely attached to my nails.
