I wanted to try using a paper punch to create some home-made decals, but I didn’t have any idea about how to use them in nail art. So I painted some Revlon Plum Attraction on a plastic sandwich bag, and when it had dried, I used my tweezers to tease the polish square off the plastic and then I used my paper punch to punch out some large circles. The punch worked really well on the dried polish, the circles came out crisp and perfect. Then I thought and thought. I finally decided to make flowers, which is generally my default, I love flowers and they are usually pretty easy to make. The purple circles were pretty big, so I decided to do the flowers kinda off-set instead of in the middle of my nails.
I painted my thumb and pinky with OPI You Only Live Twice, my pointer with OPI Jinx, one of my favorite liquid sand polishes, and my accent nails with OPI My Vampire Is Buff. While the polish was still sticky, I gently placed the circles on the edges of my nails and carefully made sure that the edges of the circles were stuck tight to my nail. Then, using my smallest dotting tool I dotted on Finger Paints Lemon Sour to make the flower center. And for the petals I used my largest dotting tool and OPI You Only Live Twice. I love how this turned out, I’m very pleased with how the flowers look, kinda weird and edgy, and I love the way all the colors go together.
