My Christmas Fingernails

Well, better late than never.  I did actually wear this manicure for Christmas.  I got lots of compliments, I think mainly because they are so in-your-face Christmas Red and Green.  They were real easy to do – a Must for Christmas nails what with everything else that has to get done!  For the red nails I used Sinful Colors Sugar Sugar topped with China glaze Electrify, and for the green nails I used China Glaze In The Lime Light topped with OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air.  My right hand was the opposite – accent nails were green and my thumb etc. were red.

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.

  1. nice!! i tried to do glitter ombre once and really failed. it’s so hard! what’s your secret?

    • Thanks! My secret is that I’m lazy – lol. Since the glitter is really thin, it doesn’t cover much. So I just start with a small amount of polish on the brush about half way down my nail, and just make sure there aren’t any big clumps. Then, I put some more closer to the tip, and if there is room, some more right at the tip. Since it’s glitter, it doesn’t have to be perfect!
