I’ve been trying new recipes and, unfortunately for my blog, they all need some tweaking. I have a couple of potentially great ones, but I still have to work out the kinks. And since all the recipes that I try make 6 or 8 or 10 servings, it takes a while to eat up the first experiment. And Al doesn’t want to eat the same thing over and over, so I also make other things to mix in with the test recipe, and so it takes us a couple of weeks to finish it up. Then I like to wait a week or so to try it again so we don’t get tired of it before I figure out the problems.
I have been experimenting with a great tasting “Easy Eggplant Lasagna” that had way too much liquid in it, and “Rotini with Brocoli, Sweet Potato, and Chicken Sausage” that tastes fabulous, but I mistakenly cooked the veggies too much, and they turned into mush. I need to remember that cooking takes TIME and CONCENTRATION!! Stay tuned for the finished products – the taste is already great, I just need to figure out the prodedure and the presentation.
So to amuse myself I painted my fingernails. I used Revlon 913 Peach Nectar for the base, Revlon 745 Frankly Scarlet for the design, and Mash-23 for the image plate. I liked the design more on the image plate than on my fingernails. I think that next time I will try the leopard print with a light clay colored base and maybe a dark blue or dark green for the design. There are so many different designs on these plates that I could use a different one every day and still have some left over at the end of the year. I have a few favorites that I find myself using over and over, so I want to try new ones more often. I don’t really like this one, but I have learned that they look very different with different color nail polish.
