Running in the Rain

For exercise, Al and I run around the local soccer fields every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning.  Al goes around twice for 1.3 miles, and I go around 3 times for a total of 1.95 miles.  It takes us under 30 minutes, and we’ve been doing this now for about 9 months.  We’ve gotten in great shape, and I am now able to run the entire three circuits without stopping to walk.  It’s been really great weather for running lately, we have had cool weather and sunshine.  Then the last couple of weeks, it’s been Cold weather and sunshine.  It was 38 degrees out when we went running last Wednesday.  With all this nice weather, we have been seriously needing rain, and then finally a bunch of storms came through.  We had to miss Friday because it was way too rainy and windy to go out and run, and it rained all weekend.  This morning it was damp, but not raining, and the temperature was up to 51 degrees, so we decided to go out and run.  Well, we only made it around 2 times, and by that time, it was raining hard, and we were soaked!

If you look closely, you can actually see the raindrops falling!

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.
