Maid Day – and a Road Trip

Yesterday was Maid Day, and we also had an appointment with the Director of Advancement at Menlo College in Menlo Park.  We always look for a reason to get out while they are here cleaning, and this was our best yet!  We got up at 6:30 and drove in for our 10:30 appointment.   For some strange and unknown reason, there was no traffic at all for the whole 110 mile drive, so we got there early.  We spent about 20 minutes driving around Menlo Park checking out the sights and then navigating our way through the parking lots at the college.  We were still a little early, but not by so much – LOL.  She was really nice, and we spent a couple of hours touring the campus, talking to all the professors and students that we ran into on our way, and ended up eating lunch in the cafeteria with all the students, faculty, and staff.  It was a great trip, and after stopping at Starbucks, we were back home again by 3:00!

I wore my new winter shorts – I made these last week when Al was in Phoenix, and I was really happy to have a chance to show them off.  I did forget, however, how much of a hassle it is to go to the bathroom when you’re wearing shorts and tights!  And since we were out and about for over 7 hours, that was a bunch of bathroom breaks!  Here I am on the campus of Menlo College, standing next to one of their famous Oak trees.

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.
