Stuffed Brie for Thanksgiving Appetizer

This is a great appetizer for any group of people, I always took it to my department’s Holiday Open House.  I haven’t run into anyone who doesn’t LOVE it.  It is so easy, and it looks so great – and tastes even better.  Serve with crackers or toast rounds, I didn’t want to open the package of crackers just for a picture the day before Thanksgiving.

Tall and good looking - what more can you ask from cheese?

You can use anything you want (or have on hand) for this.  This time I used – Scotch, pecans, dried cranberries.  I’ve used raisins, all kinds of different nuts, and even orange juice for my tee-totaling friends.

13.5 oz Baby Brie round (or equivalent wedge) refrigerated
1 8 oz cream cheese at room temperature
1/4 cup liquid – alcoholic or otherwise
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup dried fruit

Cut brie in half horizontally.  Mix cream cheese and liquid together until smooth, add nuts and fruit.  Spread on bottom half of the brie and add top.  Serve with crackers and be prepared to give everyone the recipe.

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.
