Electrical Engineering 101

I have a space heater that I use on these cold nights to take the edge off in the bedroom instead of heating up the whole house.  I’m hoping that this actually gives me a net savings on electricity/propane.  I’ve had this heater for a dozen years or so, and it’s the best one that I have ever had.  It has no moving parts, so theoretically, it has no parts to break.  WRONG!!!!  After all these years, the Plug broke!  One of the little pins just came right off.

This will never work again - who knew that plugs just fell apart?

I was shocked!  I never thought about the plug breaking.  So I googled fixing plugs and found that amazingly enough, this was a common occurrence – and that I could purchase a replacement plug for only a couple of dollars.  So I did, and today I fixed my cord.  The replacement plug came with directions (in English, French, and Spanish), and they were easy to follow.  I was able to do the complete job in only about 15 minutes.  I’m so proud of myself – LOL!!

The inside of the replacement plug - this wasn't so hard after all.

All done! I tested it and it Works!

About sunflowerswank

After working all of my life, I retired in June, 2011. I try to use my extra time to rest, exercise, paint my fingernails, play with my 9 cats, spend time with my husband, Al, and cook healthy and lower fat recipies for us to eat. I try to use as many fruits and vegetables in my menus as I can cram in, sometimes to the complaints of the hubs - LOL! I am also making over some of my old favorites to be heathier with more vegetables in them, and less fat.
